Although fishnet stockings may have caused a major sensation during the 1990s, the famously rebellious fabric is now back. Reimagined for Fall 2017, fishnet accents are now making an appearance all over the runways. From sleeves to tights, fishnet is the easiest way to bring a new texture to your look of the day. We take a look at the runways, and explore this trend further.
3.1 Phillip Lim
On the catwalk at 3.1 Phillip Lim, purple fishnet sleeves made an appearance layered underneath a loose and airy violet blouse. Paired with high-waisted black trousers, a statement necklace and a sleek black pleather handbag, this overall ensemble proved that fishnet can look surprisingly chic.
Jason Wu
Previously, we never would have thought that fishnet stockings would be appropriate for the evening hours, but Jason Wu proves us wrong. The designer featured a textured black asymmetrical dress, which was adorned with sheer panels and styled with matching black fishnets.
Cinq à Sept
At Cinq à Sept, edgy fishnets brought new life to a preppy, schoolgirl inspired ensemble. The mesh tights were worn with a ruffled white turtleneck sweater and a fitted jean bodycon dress. Overall, the combination of high-necked frills and youthful denim paired well with the sexy stockings and the bare leg on display.
