Fans of Blade Runner 2049 star Ryan Gosling know how attached he was to his dog George. From talking about him in interviews, to plenty of photos of him walking him, it was obvious George played a big part in Gosling’s life. Unfortunately last year in December George passed away at the age of 17, and even now Gosling continues to pay tribute to him.
Last week during the Saturday Night Live premiere Gosling was spotting wearing a sweater in tribute to George. It was during the closing credits. Fans also noticed that he was wearing a necklace, one he’d been seen wearing many of times before, but until now it was unknown what the necklace was of. During an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show yesterday however, he revealed that he was wearing George’s dog tag.
Gosling remembered his dog fondly during the interview. “George, as he started to age, started to look like an aging rock star,” he said. “He was sorta skinny-fat and he had big hair and, you know, no teeth, open sores, but still sexy.” He followed it up by stating that “He was a good friend to me, but it’s funny to say dog because I feel like there was something about George where he always, I think he felt like he felt being a dog was beneath him, you know? He would not do tricks. If you wanted him even to sit down, you had to sort of convince him it was in his best interest.”
