Although it may still be balmy in the great outdoors, the weather will soon start to shift toward early autumn temperatures. While we can certainly depend on our favourite skinny denim and leggings to carry us through the season, the days of leather are also on the horizon. Glancing at the Fall 2017 runways, skinny leather pants are all the rage for the weeks ahead. Try taking a closer look at the catwalks, where Zadig Voltaire, Proenza Schouler and Altuzarra all embraced the trend.
We may traditionally associate leather with dark hues, but the Zadig Voltaire runway revealed cropped black leather pants adorned with white and red panels. The contrasting colours helped to lend a creative, funky touch, while layered knit sweaters toned down the look of bright and tight-fitting bottoms. Meanwhile, strappy black studded heels helped to wrap up the ensemble.
At Proenza Schouler, slick black pleather trousers were paired with a sheer black blouse and white pointed toe shoes. With the addition of white and blue panels, a matching belt and dangling metallic earrings, this outfit is one which can light up the dance floor on a night out.
For a more formal take on leather, look no further than Altuzarra. Try slipping into a pair of red and black colourblocked pants, accessorized with a gingham or checkered blazer. Add embellished headband, shoulder-dusting earrings and motorcycle boots for a glamorous yet rebellious touch.
